Brentwood Connected, the Business Improvement District (BID) in Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone, is hosting two free family fun days during half term, in collaboration with businesses in Crown Street, The Baytree Shopping Centre and Shenfield Library.

An event taking place in Brentwood on Friday 21 February will be packed full of free, fun activities at both 7 Crown Street and The Baytree Shopping Centre.  At various times between 10am and 3pm, visitors can enjoy arts and crafts with Peque Artists, slime making with the Essex Slime Company, biscuit decorating with Chantilly Brentwood, a craft station, parent and child yoga with Step Into Yoga, and storytime with Chicken & Frog Bookshop.  Over at The Baytree Shopping Centre from 11am to 3pm, there will be meet and greet characters, a children’s funfair ride, face painting and a play centre.  Everything is free.  7 Crown Street is a new location in Brentwood which is fast becoming a community hub in the area, regularly hosting art classes, yoga sessions, workshops, meetings and parties.  The space will host the majority of Brentwood Connected’s activities on Friday 21 February and is available for private hire.

On Saturday 22 February, another free February Fun Day from Brentwood Connected will take place, this time at Shenfield Library and areas of Hutton Road.  To celebrate the opening of the brand new library there will be face painting with Curly Cloud Face Painting (from 11am to 1pm), animal handling with Exotic Explorers (from 11am to 2pm), animal crafts with Retro From Scratch (from 1-3pm) and storytime from 2.30-3pm, all located inside the library.  Elsewhere in Hutton Road, visitors can enjoy meeting a walkabout animal character, a children’s funfair ride and a play centre.  All activities are entirely free.

Sarah Walmsley, Brentwood Connected Business Improvement District (BID) Manager said, “We know how much families enjoy having free, fun things to do in our High Streets during the school holidays, so we’re really pleased to be able to offer these Fun Days in Brentwood and Shenfield.  For Brentwood Connected, it’s a great opportunity to showcase some of our fantastic businesses - perhaps some which people have never visited before - and encourage everyone to explore the High Streets as a whole.  This February is also an opportunity to bring families together to enjoy the new Shenfield Library, which is a real asset to our community and something our businesses have been looking forward to celebrating.  We encourage everyone to visit - it’s an amazing space”.

Brentwood Connected is a unique Business Improvement District (BID) supporting the borough’s three high streets and funded by town centre businesses to improve the experience of residents, visitors, employees and businesses in Brentwood, Shenfield and Ingatestone.  For information about Brentwood Connected, including events listings, business directories and local information, visit www.brentwoodconnected.co.uk.
